Track content

During the event, participants will be creating new innovative health care products and services using relevant data, the leading API’s and devices, e.g. Apple Watch. The track is powered by IBM Bluemix. Bluemix is the leading platform-as-a-service solution and brings connectivity to IBM’s Watson, which in turn has, among others, multiple health related applications.

FutuLabs is the Futurice skunkworks initiative where we hack away on the latest and greatest in gadgets and technology. Improving Cities

Create an App using the Uber API

One of our core principals at Uber is to improve cities, which is why we are looking for developers too do just that. With the Uber API, developers have the ability to build applications that incorporate the entire Uber experience. In this track developers are challenged to use the Uber API to build an app to "improve the city". Developers may use any other APIs in the mix, but must include the Uber API as the primary use case.

How to win this track:

Use the Uber API to build the best app with the most impact. Our team focuses on the following criteria:

Teaching women to code

Technology should be accessible for everyone. Instead of just consuming and curating, we want to encourage and empower women to create things in the Internet. During a two-day workshop we coach women with no prior experience in programming to gain basic understanding on how the Internet works and what tools are used to build things online.

Rails Girls is a global movement that started in Helsinki 2010. In over 300 events in over 200 cities all around the world from Tokyo to Buenos Aires we have helped around 10 000 women take their first steps in programming.

Mehackit introduces youth to the maker side of tech via courses and events with robotics and programming. The aim is to give a bunch of empowering confidence, and to get a better understanding of how this world works and what epic stuff there is to build.
